Let me just get a couple things straight: MOSES.
WAS. NOT. THE. SAME. PERSON. AS. AKHENATEN. ALSO THE ARK OF THE
COVENANT WAS NOT AN EGYPTIAN ALCHEMICAL ARTIFACT. YOU ARE JUST MAKING
THAT UP AND IT'S ANNOYING AND LAME.
Seriously, Peter Vegas should have gotten his Egyptology and Biblical history straight before attempting to write this. Depending on your date for the Exodus, Moses was either about a hundred years before Akhenaten existed or about twenty after he straight-up died.
And that's not even counting the alchemy thing--the Ark was unique, it was created for the Tabernacle, and it held the two tablets of the Law. It was definitely not one of many, definitely not used for Egyptian alchemy, and definitely never stored in its own chamber in a pyramid. (Sorry, Raiders of the Lost Ark.)
This also isn't counting the fact that it wasn't lost in any context remotely involving Egypt. (Again, sorry, Raiders of the Lost Ark.) It disappeared shortly before the Babylonian captivity, which means if anything, it should be in Babylon.
Also,
the "iron tomb" is metaphorical. It's referring to a buried ship. Which
is so much lamer than an actual Egyptian tomb made out of iron for some
reason.
Were this a videogame, I'd rate it: A hard E10+ for violence.
2 stars. this was just lame. Even Raiders of the Lost Ark has its theology better.
(Endnote: Look, I understand that many of the plot points I'm yelling about are also in Raiders of the Lost Ark. But, crucially, the movie was good. This book isn't really.)
